The Global Governance Foundation was created with the objective of influencing and acting on the main political and strategic decisions of States and major international organizations, by creating the first global government rating agency: Global Governance Index.

The foundation has its headquarters in Geneva. It is recognized as being of public utility by the Swiss Confederation. It is led by an Executive Board of reputed personalities. The operational management team is based in Paris.
